Dates for October

Please note below some upcoming dates for special events in October, open to all who wish to join us.

Saturday 3 October 9.30am Prayer Breakfast

St Peter’s Church Sowerby is open to all who wish to come together to start the day, and a new month, in peace as we open our hearts and minds to God, take time out of our busy lives to reflect on all that is going on around us, give thanks for all that is good and offer up our concerns for our loved ones, our community and the world we live in.

Sunday 4 October 10.00am Harvest Festival, St Peter’s Church Sowerby

Harvest is a time to rejoice in our natural world and all it provides for us, and to give thanks to our farming communities and all who work the land and help bring food to our tables. We will once again be supporting our local Food Bank with donations of tinned goods and toiletries. However, this year they have asked that donations be left at the designated collecting points in the local supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda while doing your regular shopping to minimise the amount goods are being handled. We hope that this still enables you to take part in this tradition of giving whatever you are able to spare at this time in a safe way.

Sunday 18 October 3.30pm St Luke’s Patronal Festival

We will be joining with our friends at St Luke’s Church Norland to celebrate the patronal festival of St Luke. Please note that there will be no service at St Peter’s Church Sowerby on this day.
